A Thursday Ponder, let’s talk about the tag “Budget”…
I see so many posts from people across multiple groups on Facebook and they say stuff like “Looking for {insert supplier type} but we are on a budget” or “we are having a small, budget wedding”.
Firstly, it’s time to stop using the word budget in your posts, in a way, you are demeaning your wedding day by giving it this label.
Every wedding is on a budget, it’s just that some budgets are bigger, or smaller, than others and want to know something, that’s absolutely ok.
But when we preface our post, or caveat our post with the mention of it being a budget this or that then we are overlooking the fact that it’s gonna be the most amazing, best day EVER. Who cares that it’s a small wedding? Who cares that you might not have a huge budget? What’s more important is that it’s your day and its gonna be what you want and that it’s gonna be perfect.
You’re not having a budget wedding, that makes it sound cheap or low-end and if you think about it, it’s not that at all. You are having YOUR DAY, YOUR WAY and that’s all that matters.
My advice, drop the word budget in your posts and just tell the world you are planning the best day ever and you would love some supplier recommendations.
In private, you can then decide if a supplier is within your budget or not and proceed from there.
Hopefully what I’ve said makes some sense and if you’d like to chat further then get in touch.
